Access to Justice

Numerous obstacles impede consumers’ access to the justice system. Forced arbitration clauses and class action bans take away people’s day in court and prohibit injured consumers from banding together. Supreme Court decisions on Article III standing have made it difficult to pursue some legal violations in federal court. Lack of access to attorneys and court procedures disadvantage consumers. NCLC works to reduce these obstacles so that consumers can pursue justice through the court system.
