NCLC is supporting S. 3459, The End Double Taxation of Successful Consumer Claims Act, which would ensure that taxpayers are no longer subjected to unexpected and unjustified penalties after they successfully hold bad corporate actors accountable in court. The bill prohibits taxing consumers for awards of attorneys’ fees that they do not receive.
