Overdraft Fees & Services

Overdraft fees drain billions of dollars from low-income consumers, especially in communities of color. Banks use trips and traps to maximize overdraft fees, which operate as a back-end profit center that disguises the cost of bank accounts. Newer forms of overdraft protection may also have hidden fees. NCLC works to stop these abuses.
