On March 4, 2021, bar counsel filed a petition for discipline against the respondent, Daniel G. Ruggiero, Esquire. In essence, the petition charged the respondent with participating in a scheme with nonlawyers to charge and collect illegal and excessive fees from fifteen clients - vulnerable homeowners in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, desperate to save their homes.
