The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and the undersigned organization write to strongly urge to immediately pass S.1279, the Fostering Undergraduate Talent by Unlocking Resources for Education (FUTURE) Act to ensure Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions (ANNHIs), Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs), Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs), and Native American-Serving Nontribal Institution (NASNTIs) have the resources they need to support their students.

Plaintiffs allege Defendants violated the Fair Housing Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Truth in Lending Act, and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act through “a deceptive home purchase program that discriminated against Black communities in Southeast Michigan.” (Pl’s Br., ECF No. 81, at PageID 484).
