The U.S. House will soon consider the Senate’s Reconciliation Bill. The big, brutal bill will raise prices for low-income and working-class families, eliminate health insurance for millions of people, slash funding for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and eviscerate student loan protections to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.

The Reconciliation bill includes huge cuts to:

  • Medicaid, which would increase increase preventable deaths and quickly expand medical debt;
  • Student financial aid and repayment support, leading to higher student loan bills, narrow repayment options, and added roadblocks for students whose school closed or defrauded them, and;
  • The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Cutting the CFPB’s budget by 70%, or more, would gut the nation’s top consumer watchdog and make it easier for banks, payment apps, and other financial companies to break the law and take advantage of ordinary people.

There is still time to pressure Congress to VOTE NO on this big, bad reconciliation bill. Find Your Representative. You can also call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121.

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m from CITY/STATE. I am calling to urge the Representative to vote NO on the reconciliation bill. I don’t want people in our community to lose consumer protections or get kicked off of Medicaid or SNAP to pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.
