This is a Maryland coalition letter to the MD PSC urging emergency regulations to implement a 2025 law that amends the existing law regarding gas utility infrastructure replacement in the name of public safety. The 2025 law places an emphasis on cost recovery for dempnstrated reasonable an prudent investments that include customer benefits, cost-effective options analyzed before the investments (e.g., non-pipeline alternatives, and leak detection and repair), estimated risk reduction among other things.
