NCLC signed on to comments to the Maryland PSC proceeding regarding lessons learned from Baltimore Gas and Electric’s multi-year rate plan (MRP) pilot. Maryland PIRG prepared the comments. The groups urge the commission to end the pilot as MRP has resulted in weaker oversight of utility spending and increased energy bills. Since the MD PSC has approved the pilot, BG&E’s electric rates have increased by 26% and the gas rates have increased by 43%.
