Roger D. Smith, Marcus P. McKinley, William R. Johnson, Sandra Rush & Judy Riggs, on behalf of themselves and all others similarly situated v. Aramark Corporation, Aramark Correctional Services, LLC & Union Supply Group, 2:25-cv-00710 (S.D.W.Va.)
This class action lawsuit challenges Aramark’s food services scheme to unfairly profit off incarcerated consumers and their families. The complaint alleges that Aramark, the exclusive provider of food services, exploits its position of control over its captive consumer market by failing to provide incarcerated people with adequate mandated daily meals services, so they and their families are driven to purchase food from Aramark-owned vendors. The lawsuit seeks relief under the West Virginia Consumer Credit Protection Act and related laws.
