This class action complaint seeks relief for homeowners against predatory mortgage lender Hometap Equity Partners and its affiliates. The case asserts that the defendants dupe unsuspecting homeowners into their deceptively named “Option Purchase Agreements,” which are, in fact, unfair, usurious, and unconscionable mortgage loans that illegally strip home equity from them in violation of the Truth in Lending Act and New Jersey consumer protection laws.
