Public Citizen, Consumer Federation of America, National Association of Consumer Advocates, National Consumer Law Center, and Public Justice submitted an amicus brief in support of petitioners in Cantero v. Bank of America. The brief argued that the Second Circuit erred in finding that state mortgage escrow interest laws are preempted and in applying a preemption standard that Congress overturned in the Dodd-Frank Act.
