Shawuki Hilton, a private attorney in Bushnell, Fla., accepted the 2026 Rising Star Award.

Shawuki was recognized for his extraordinary representation of clients who were victims of identity theft and fraud. He is particularly focused on representing clients who were subject to improper debt reporting and abusive debt collection. 

“Shawuki has been achieving justice for people facing abusive debt collection and financial fraud and who have nowhere else to turn,” said Rich Dubois, executive director of the National Consumer Law Center. “The impact of his work on the lives of real people far surpasses the length of his career, and we look forward to seeing the reach of his work grow in the coming years.”
