Margaret Kohler

Chief Financial Officer

Margaret Kohler started at NCLC in 1998 as Director of Finance. Margaret is responsible for all of the organization’s​ finances, personnel record-keeping, and procurement. In addition, she is responsible for tracking all grant expenses, and for ensuring that checks are received and disbursed within the fiscal and accounting guidelines set by each of NCLC’s various funding sources. In 2008 she played a key role in securing funding for the NCLC’s headquarters using a tax-exempt bond combined with New Market Tax Credits. In 2015, she played a role in transitioning NCLC’s book publications library from print to digital with an e-commerce platform. Her prior experience includes seven years in finance and administration at the Union of Concerned Scientists. Margaret earned her B.A. and an MBA in non-profit management from Boston University.
