Alfred Ripley

Senior Attorney

Alfred Ripley is a senior attorney at the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) focusing on energy and utility policy. With a career spanning more than 30 years, he has extensive experience in energy, consumer, and housing law and policy. 

Before joining NCLC, he served as Senior Counsel at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on the Enforcement Division’s Market Specialist and Compliance Team. He also worked as the Director of the Consumer, Housing and Energy Project at the North Carolina Justice Center, where he advocated for consumer interests on numerous state and federal initiatives. Prior to becoming an attorney, he worked as a high school special education teacher in North Carolina public schools.
