Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

The LIHEAP program is the cornerstone of energy assistance programs in every state and territory. Low-wealth households and communities of color experience disconnection of essential energy services at a much higher rate than well-off households. Loss of heating or cooling can jeopardize the health and safety of individuals. NCLC advocates for a well-funded and strong LIHEAP program.
