The Data Entry Associate will transfer information from mortgage loan documents to a custom-designed database for the National Mortgage Data Repository Project (NMDR). The NMDR collects mortgage loan documents and builds a database of valuable, credible information on the nature and extent of sub-prime and predatory mortgage lending practices.
Responsibilities
Primary duties will include: entering information from mortgage loan documents into Access-based database; assisting as needed with processing paper and electronic loan document collections for the repository archives.
Qualifications
Strong computer skills and speedy typing skills; ability to read and understand moderately complex documents after on-the-job training (prior knowledge of mortgage lending issues is not required); strong attention to detail; ability to adhere strictly to data entry quality control protocols; ability to sign statement committing to preserve borrower confidentiality; preferably, 1–3 years experience working with databases; preferably, interest in housing and/or consumer credit issues.
Wage and Benefits
$12–13/hour, 35–40 hours/week, full benefits including 3 weeks paid vacation.

Job Start and End Dates
The job start date will be in mid- to late October. This grant-funded position is term-limited. The employee will be asked to sign a contract through November 30 2008, when the current grant cycle ends, with likely renewal for a December 1, 2008 – November 30, 2009 contract.
