More than 400 consumer attorneys and advocates joined NCLC for its 9th
annual consumer litigation conference.
Heading the list of outstanding speakers were:Rhoda Karpatkin, president of Consumers Union; Scott Harshbarger, president
of Common Cause; and Richard T. Phillips, former president of the Mississippi
Trial Lawyers Association.In
addition, top consumer law experts from around the country shared with conference
participants their expertise and unique insights in many consumer law issues.
In addition to the general conference, 3 mini-conferences
attracted a total of 226 participants:Auto Fraud; Bankruptcy, Still in Transition; and Newcomers Guide to Consumer
Law.
During the annual awards luncheon, NCLC presented its prestigious
Vern Countryman Award to Richard Rubin of
Santa Fe, New Mexico who has been a galvanizing force in shaping the consumer
law movement.
Participants completing the evaluation form overwhelmingly
