A Center for Consumer Expertise and Advocacy
Home at Last for NCLC
Thanks for Helping!
We’re home – after nearly 40 years in a succession of make-do rented offices, NCLC moved into a home of its own in August 2008.
We’re as delighted and proud of our new offices as any first time homeowner could be. But it’s not just because we love the new space – and its attractive, efficiently designed offices and workspaces. It’s because ownership is about the future and ensuring that NCLC can continue to speak out on behalf of vulnerable consumers. It’s for the benefit of the entire community of consumer advocates who so often rely on NCLC’s expertise and services.
Thanks to many generous friends we raised over $5.5 million during our three-year Building for Marketplace Justice Campaign. That’s a pretty remarkable amount for a legal advocacy organization of our size and we thank all who made it possible. Your support encourages us in our fight for consumer justice. Our campaign newsletters, below, list many of our generous donors. We look forward to permanently recognizing our supporters in our new building’s donor wall of appreciation, expected to be completed sometime this summer.
Although the building campaign itself is over, we’re continuing to accept donations directed to the building. Its initial cost, far higher than our advisors had told us to expect, as well as a complete rehabbing of it, mean we’re carrying a mortgage which we’d like to pay down as quickly as possible. If you can help, just click on the donate button – and be as generous as you can.
