Carol J. Kenner served as a judge on the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts for 18 years. During her tenure, she served as Chief Judge of the Court from 1994-1998. She also served on the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the First Circuit, including two years as Chief Judge. Prior to appointment to the bench, she practiced corporate reorganization law in New York and Boston. Judge Kenner lectures and participates regularly in educational panels sponsored by the Federal Judicial Center, American Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, Boston Bar, Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative, Flaschner Institute and numerous law schools throughout the country. For six years, she taught Bankruptcy Law as an Adjunct Professor at Suffolk University Law School. She has testified before the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. After retiring from the bench, she was appointed as a Special Assistant Attorney General, specializing in mortgage foreclosures and bankruptcy. Judge Kenner joined NCLC in 2010.
